My Story (this is the “more about me” part that actually matters):
In 2009 I walked into The Cable Center/Syndeo Institute in Denver and they asked if I could learn ColdFusion (an old Adobe platform even then). I said yes, built their entire main website from scratch that same year, and stayed for 12 years as their lead web and digital guy.
Along the way I:
• Reverse-engineered broken 2007 Flash kiosks so visitors could still interact with the exhibits (Also Flash is usable again and safe on web pages if interested, no plugins needed)
• Quietly saved their entire video archive (oral histories, Hall of Fame programs, everything) when the server was hacked — those backups became the only clean copies
• Pushed (and won) the move to modern open-source systems.
• Built a fully interactive VR recreation of the entire building in Unity (With my team led by Nic van Dessel) that you can still walk through today on a 2026 Meta Quest — picking up artifacts and stepping into 360 videos on the Steam Store for free.
All of that taught me one thing: the best digital experiences aren’t about the latest trend. They’re about respecting the story and building something that lasts.
