Embed Flash in Squarespace
The top flash file below is coming from my old WIX site and the bottom file is coming from a file upload here on my Squarespace site. The top works but the bottom does not (click on the icons). This says that all of the code is correct in order for Ruffle to work and the URL to the swf file in Squarespace seems correct as well. No matter how many times I contact Squarespace support to have them add the file format back onto the servers they use the refuse and literally have never responded to me. Many web designers on Squarespace I speak with were excited about this and also contacted them with no results.
Currently I have given up on Ruffle and reintroducing Flash into websites simply because people don’t understand adding Z space (Depth as opposed to X and Y direction) to a flat, standard webpage. Also, once Steve Jobs and Apple decided Flash was obsolete the rest of the world followed. Now that Flash has been redesigned I see that the average public doesn’t understand how easy creating animation was for us animators. Creating CSS animation and embedding the code is, well, just so complex it is sad. Maybe someday CSS animation will be encapsulated and designed like Flash was.
